Experience
Arul has over 25 years experience in the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court, District Court, Family Court of Australia and Local Court.
Arul has been in private practice since 1998 and has experience in transactional work, drafting and advising on commercial agreements including building contracts, IT contracts, shareholders agreements, pre-nuptial and financial agreements and franchise agreements.
Prior to 1998 he was employed by the Australian Government Solicitor’s Office for 8 years and acted for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) in matters under the Trade Practices Act and large contract disputes arising from contracts with the Department of Defence and other Commonwealth agencies. He was also employed by the Director of Public Prosecutions (NSW) and prosecuted in criminal matters.
Arul’s particular legal experience is in the following areas:
- Commercial and general litigation including contract disputes, company and partnership disputes, lease and franchise disputes;
- Intellectual Property (Trade Marks and Copyright);
- Employment Law;
- Insolvency and bankruptcy;
- Family Law and property disputes;
- Criminal matters.
